I can't believe it has been four years since I posted here...time flies.

Quite a few things have happened since my last update.

  • I graduated with a masters degree in philosophy and education
  • I followed that with a BA in special needs education
  • I got a boyfriend ♥
  • ...who is now my fiancé ♥ ♥
  • ...and we're getting married on August 1st ♥ ♥ ♥
  • We bought an apartment
  • ...and two cats; devon rex brothers named Yoda and Dure
  • I started working as a teacher for children receiving in- and outpatient psychiatric treatment
  • ...but it was a temporary position, and I'm looking for a new job
  • My choir released a CD with music by Brahms (which is now on spotify)
  • I got re-diagnosed with bipolar II and ADHD, as well as avoidant personality disorder
  • I got more tattoos

    ...to mention a few.

Maybe I'll actually remember to post here now...

I got the results on my last exam today. This term I got three D's...not extremely good grades, but considering that I did nothing all term and wrote the second half (and a bit more) of all three exams during less than 24 hours (this last one I finished in five, hah...without reading the feedback on my first draft and without reading the books I wrote about) I am pleased.

Maybe I should be more structured this autumn, though. Maybe.

Good thing I got new shelves from IKEA last week...because I may or may not have splurged on amazon.com again. I found the four first books from the Song of Ice and Fire-series in some sort of box set for only $20-ish...and I also found the prequel to a book I'm currently reading (I didn't know it was part of a series) for only $10 or so.

Seriously, can you ever get enough books?

I went to IKEA today. Alone. Two words: never again. There weren't too many people, and I found what I needed (eventually), but carrying and pushing it around all by myself was quite uncool...two Expedit shelves and a shoe rack. And a lot of other stuff, of course...that's what IKEA is for.

Oh, and I got the results for my first exam. I passed! Yaaay. Didn't really care about the grade as long as I passed, so I'm quite content :)

Aaaah, only a week left of uni before summer! Well, only a week left until my last term paper deadline. I have been looking into classes for the autumn semester, and I think I have found the classes I want to sign up for. Thankfully I only have to choose three...and I'm going for "Chaucer and the Manuscript Tradition", "American Literature in the Fifties and Sixties" and a course in linguistic method which I will need as preparation for my masters thesis.

I hope I won't die from the insane work load or boredom...dying due to boredom was a real possibility this semester; Language and Settlement in England ca 400-1200 A.D was boring like whoa. The professor used overhead, talked forever and ever and ever, wore his pants right up under his armpits, had a tweed jacket...and wore a monocle. Hello 19th century.

I just handed in my second term paper. Which I also continued on last night. I started at 10pm-ish...and had to write five and a half pages before handing it in. If there were a procrastination world cup I might have won. Just sayin'.

    Hey guys!

I should probably say that my life is pretty boring, so I rarely have much to update about. But I figured I'd share parts of my mundane life with you anyway, just to prove that I'm still alive.

First of all, work has been insane. One of my bosses transferred to a different store, so we have 40 hours per week that need to be covered. And due to me "only" having term papers for my exams I get put up for work a lot. Last week I worked six days, for instance. That's pretty insane. Well, for a part-time employee in Norway, anyway. However it does mean that I get more money! And that's always a good thing. I like money.

But. Me working like a mofo does, of course, affect my studies. I handed in one of my term papers today, and as I mentioned in my last post seven out of ten pages were written last night and this morning. Procrastinators say what? Oh well. As long as I pass I don't really care about the grade. Only three papers to go...wheee...

Choir has also been pretty crazy. We're giving a concert on the 29th of May, and a lot of the repertoire is rather hefty...but, lazy as I am, I never rehearse at home. Oh well. I'll just mime. BUT! On the 16th and 17th of May we were on TV! That's kinda cool. Didn't see me too much, though; I always get placed on the back row, and with my being 4'11"...well, enough said. I don't mind, though. I look like crap on TV. If you feel like seeing 35 women clad in their bunads (Norwegian national costume, 17th May is our version of 4th of July), you can click here. Might not work if you use firefox, though.

I still don't understand people, especially not guys who seem to take an interest in me. I don't see why they seem to be interested or what lies behind it. That's what you get for being paranoid and having social phobia, I suppose. I hate being single, really. Although it does have its positive sides, I miss the stability, the knowing that someone's always there for me. Well. There is this guy who is always there for me, but I don't understand whether he's just after getting laid or if he'd be interested in more. He says that he likes having me around, that I am charming and interesting, and he seemingly likes to cuddle with me. But, being such a paranoid loon, I still can't bring myself to believe that it's genuine. Which sucks, because it triggers my anxiety and mood swings and such. He says he doesn't mind my being bipolar and that my ADHD is just fascinating, which is one of the reasons why it seems too good to be true. Oh well. So it goes.

On a closing note I will write a little list (I did write a proper, albeit boring, entry this time, so I figured that I could spoil myself with a list).
  • I bought more books, even though I still have several I have yet to finish
  • I managed to get through Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse 5, and I liked it. It is also the first book I have read for fun and been able to finish since, like, Christmas
  • Can't remember if I already mentioned this, but I got my septum pierced. That's three in four months. Wheee..
  • I bought even more dresses. It's an addiction.

I guess that's all. Long and boring entry is long and boring. Oh well.

Starting to write the last six pages of your incredibly boring term paper a day and a half before it's due might not be the smartest thing to do. Thankfully I tried it out so that you don't have to. You might even end up writing your first LJ post in a month and a half instead of writing on the damn paper. Fact.

    I didn't die. Yet.

So I suppose you're all extremely curious as to what I've been up to since, well, Christmas. So let's see...
  • I became single again
  • I started my masters courses
  • I turned 23
  • I got two new piercings, finishing my left ear (at least for now)
  • I saw Bjørn Berge and The Streets live
  • I bought my passes for Ulver and Inferno
  • I had a "mini tour" with my choir
  • I spent too much money (as per usual)

Part from that, things have been pretty much like they've always been.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Hope you have had a happy holiday so far and that Santa was good to you this year :)

I just got my exam results. I got a D on my integrated paper (which was pure bullshit anyway)...and a B on my exam folder! This means that I'm now a qualified teacher, zomg.
